Happy Spring! This week is the March New Moon and the Spring Equinox, the halfway point between the winter and summer solstice when the day and night are equal.
Spring Equinox is the time of new beginnings, releasing the old energy and the constriction of winter, and resetting energy for the blossoming of spring. In most cultures throughout history, our ancestors celebrated the coming of spring with ritual and celebrations. Spring brings inspiration, renewed hope for change, and awakening of new dreams.
However, before new thoughts, actions, and changes can develop, old patterns of constriction, resentment, bitterness, failure, and fear need to be freed. The frozen emotions that bind us to the pain of the past must melt so new growth arises.
Are emotional limitations holding you back? Is this pain related to family beliefs and patterns, or are they situational?
Do you ever feel…
- Emotions that don’t quite belong to you—like they belong to someone else?
- A deep yearning for healing, a connection to your roots, or a spiritual awakening, yet feeling lost on how to navigate this journey?
- As if this weight is a permanent fixture in your life?
We sometimes carry the scars our ancestors couldn’t mend during their lifetimes. These emotional wounds echo through the lives of our grandparents and parents, shaping their beliefs and actions which we adopt.
When turmoil and conflict rage within us, we crave an escape to live fully, to embrace joy and fulfillment. If these burdens impair your life, spring is the time to let go.
The answers lie with our ancestors. If they couldn’t resolve their struggles during their lives, the wisdom they’ve gained on the other side is now within reach. From this spiritual vantage point, solutions to their burdens become clarified. Ancestors evolve, growing spiritually with the Divine’s support.
Indigenous cultures have long understood this connection. We can use shamanic journeys to reach out to our ancestors. We can talk with them, pose questions, and even seek their assistance in reshaping our lives. Our ancestors stand ready to help us overcome our greatest challenges.
They love us deeply, wanting to spare us from repeating their mistakes. They want us to thrive—healthier, wiser, and more successful in relationships and abundance than they ever were.
In many cultures, ancestors are honored and consulted for guidance in daily struggles. Some believe certain ancestors are appointed to watch over us, aiding us throughout our lives.
Spring is the time to clean house—both practically and spiritually. Clear out unwanted, stale emotional baggage with your ancestors’ help.
No matter how you choose to lighten those ancestral burdens, remember—your ancestors are here to help. Trust in their love and wisdom to lead you toward a brighter, more fulfilling life.
